Web App Development - Goldman Sachs

As a Data Engineering Analyst for Goldman Sachs, I mainly used Typescript, CSS, HTML, SQL, and Java for work on the web app of internal as well as open-sourced Legend, GS' end-to-end data management and data governance platform. Legend allows both technical and non-technical users to model, query, and visualize data without the need for code. Our team received the Shining Star (project going above and beyond to engage the community) award in FINOS (Fintech Open Source Foundation)'s 2022 Conference: Open Source in Finance Forum.

Data Analysis and Auditing - World Vision

I was a data analyst internal auditor intern in the Spring '24 Cohort at World Vision International, a $2.8 billion global non-profit working in nearly 100 countries dedicated to poverty reduction. I used Power BI, Python, and Excel to analyze reports and create dashboards, and also learned Humanitarian Logistics and was responsible for identifying potential risks, controls, and procedures in the supply chain process for an INGO.

Data Analysis Mentee - Deloitte and HDSI

Chosen as one of 15 students for professional development mentorship 21' program with Deloitte Consulting and Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute and worked with 2 other mentees under Deloitte mentor to develop a self-directed case study cleaning and analyzing publicly available datasets from the World Health Organization by using Python, Seaborn, SciPy, Pyplot, and Pandas. Independently created interactive dashboard webpage visualizing the cleaned data with HTML, CSS, Javascript, Highcharts, and d3.js.

Computing Education Research - UCSD

As a Research Assistant in the University of California, San Diego, I conducted research collaboratively with another researcher under the guidance of our PI using Python (SciPy, Pyplot, Pingouin, Pandas, Numpy, Sci-kitlearn, Seaborn, Scikit-learn) to analyze data on how to create more inclusive spaces in computing education. I coauthored and presented Experiences of Non-Native English Speakers Learning Computer Science in a US University. In Proceedings of the 52nd ACM Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE '21).

Web/Android Development - Red Cross, UCSD

Front-end developer and later Student Team Lead of Cruz Roja Tijuana, a Global Ties project with Red Cross Tijuana. Global TIES is UCSD’s internationally recognized program in sustainable development where faculty-advised, interdisciplinary teams of students work in partnership with NGOs. Our project is an open-sourced web and mobile app that provides a software interface to allow dispatches in Tijuana, Mexico to visualize ambulances in real time and optimize resource usage to create more reliable health-care services. We used Django, Docker, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, MQTT, D3.js, Plotly.

App Development - CitrusHacks

Mobile Developer and UI/UX designer in a hackathon team of 4. We worked on an Android App that would allow users to enter medication and be alerted when the name of their medication matches with an FDA drug recall. We used Firebase authentication, Android Studio, openFDA API, Java, and Adobe Phtooshop. Awarded top place for Medic Track as well as Best Entrepreneurial Hack in Citrus Hacks 2019. DevPost

Hey there! I’m Anne Xu, a software developer based in Los Angeles, California ☀️

I have experience in front-end development with knowledge of HTML, CSS (Sass, Tailwind, Bootstrap), and Javascript (Typescript, React, Next.js). I also have done data analytics and visualization and received a B.S. Data Science degree from UC San Diego. In terms of coding, I especially enjoy web development and in general, love learning about new technologies.
